Description

Danang has been continuously inhabited since 192 AD, when it was first settled by Indonesians. Originally a part of the Champa Kingdom that ruled much of southern Vietnam until the 15th century, Danang has played an important part in Vietnamese history for many centuries. Anyone interested in the history of the area should definitely pay a visit to My Son, located about 70 kilometers west of Danang. The former capital of the Champa Kingdom, My Son is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and considered to be the Angkor of Vietnam. Many travellers will arrive in Danang by train or plane for onward travel to Hoi An. The town is just a 45 minutes’ drive from Da Nang to either Hoi An town or Cua Dai beach and can be done by bus or in a taxi for roughly $30. Instead, resorts and hotels in Hoi An Vietnam located along Cua Dai and in the town are allocated sections of the beach. With hotels mushrooming all over the place, beach space within easy access is rapidly running out. In addition, what used to be a relatively unspool and quiet area has become more and more crowded. The larger hotels on the beach regularly clean their stretch of sand, but the areas used by smaller establishment and those in the town are less well maintained. Furthermore, beach vendors are an increasing nuisance. In fairness, most provide a valuable service wandering up and down the beach selling ice cream, coconuts and so on, but a growing number of more aggressive traders are appearing - the best response is to ignore them completely if they start to bother you. To escape from it all, stock up with water and snacks, hire a bicycle and a sunshade, and head off past the resort area - despite all the people, you don't have to go far to find an almost deserted stretch of soft sand! garage floor epoxy
